Your Burnt Store Isles Association works only because good folks like YOU step up and volunteer a little of your time to help keep Burnt Store Isles the best community in SW Florida. So please consider raising your hand to fill one of the open positions we will have starting in January 2025. Contrary to what you might think, serving on the Board is not a tremendous amount of work but it is a great way for you meet some new friends. Outlined below are the positions we need to fill this fall.
President
How would like to take the reins and help guide a great team of hard-working volunteers? A team made up of neighbors who are focused on making BSI, YOUR community, the best place to live in Florida. You’d provide what any group needs from time-to-time, a bit of guidance, focusing and leadership. In addition, you’d be the official representative of BSIA to the local City, County and State governments, outside civic organizations, and local communities. So, if you want to help BSIA to continue a strong history of community improvement and growth for years to come. Get in touch today! What do you say? Email info@bsia.net.
Vice President
We are looking for a great second in command. Someone who wants to fill a critical role on the Board with important responsibilities but just not lead the whole enchilada. You’ll of course be asked to preside at any BSIA meeting when the president is absent and you may be called on to assist any Board members if they need a bit of extra help from time to time.
A primary responsibility will be to act as chair of the Architectural Review Committee helping to resolve any issues regarding compliance with BSI Deed Restrictions. You’ll also be the central contact point for the approval of all new construction plans. Let’s hear from you today. Email info@bsia.net for more information.
Secretary
It’s been said that we must learn from the past to ensure a better future. In a nutshell that is what the Secretary does for BSIA. By helping to chronicle the business of BSIA, you’d make sure that not only the current Board but those in the future, has an accurate record of the discussions, decisions, and reasoning behind what’s done by BSIA on behalf of the greater community. So, if you have a few hours a month to spare that need filling and are looking for an outlet for your community interest. Then this is the role for you! Contact info@bsia.net without delay!
Community Standards Director
Among the reasons you probably liked Burnt Store Isles when you first saw it, made the decision to invest in, and then moved here likely was the way the community looked, how the houses were kept and the general “feel” of the neighborhood. Since BSIA was formed in 1985, it’s been the role of the Community Standards Director to promote and maintain exactly that reaction.
Residents in BSIA have always shown a tremendous amount of pride in their community so this role has lots of support in the community when it comes to enforcing our deed restrictions or working with the City on code compliance issues for homes within BSI.
How would you like to help carry on this tradition? If you are a people person, have an hour or so a week to fill and are interested in helping to keep BSI’s position as the premier community in Punta Gorda, then the role as our Community Standards Director in 2025 is for you. Let’s hear from you today. Email info@bsia.net for more information.
Security Director
Do you like living in a great community that’s known as a very safe place to live? Want to help keep it that way, then this may be a role for you. We can thank our City’s outstanding first responders such as the Punta Gorda Police Department and Punta Gorda Fire Department for the tremendous job they do. But it is also due to the work of our neighborhood Security Director who regularly meets with and represents BSIA to these and other agencies on matters such as vehicle traffic, marine safety and home security.
The Director may form a committee of BSIA volunteers to help monitor and maintain the BSIA security video cameras at our entrances, and assist law enforcement personnel to access the video recordings when appropriate. Doesn’t this sound like a great way to invest a few of your spare hours a week to keeping BSIA great? Then get in touch today. Email info@bsia.net for more information.
