Yummy Peach Dessert
Adjust quantity to number of people to be served.
Ingredients:
Fresh peaches [about 1/2 peach per person]
Sugar
White rum
Pound cake
Ice cream or frozen yogurt - whatever flavor you like; we
like vanilla
Optional: whipped cream and maraschino cherries
- Peel and slice fresh peaches into a bowl.
- Sprinkle with granulated sugar to taste.
- Add a few generous splashes of white rum.
- Stir gently so as not to bruise the fruit.
- Cover with plastic wrap.
- Set aside at room temperature for about an hour.
- When it's time to serve, cut pound cake into 1/2-1 inch thick slices.
- Toast pound cake slices.
- While the pound cake is warm, top with 2 scoops of ice cream or frozen
yogurt.
- Top with rum-marinated peaches.
- Optional: top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry
